At the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association Annual Meeting on March 10 this year, three notable Special Achievement Awards were announced.

The winners were: Pierre Dufresne of Tartan Homes; Amsted Design-Build, and Uniform Urban Developments.

Pierre Dufresne is Past President of the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) and the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA). He is an active member of several community boards and committees and has been a key GOHBA representative to the City of Ottawa. He has also been instrumental in forming a new communications strategy in regard to GOHBA’s government relations.

Amsted Design-Build promotes GOHBA through seminars, consultations, home shows and television appearances. Amsted staff participate in several committees, councils and boards. The company has received multiple awards; last year it was named Renovator of the Year both provincially and regionally.

Uniform Urban Developments has consistently raised the importance of architecture and design in new home construction in Ottawa. It has unique approaches to new suburban developments, urban infill developments and neighbourhood revitalization. It promotes the importance of good design and has won GOHBA Housing Design Awards.
