Ottawa renovators were the recipients of several awards recently: national, provincial, and local.

For the first time in 2020, the Canadian Home Builders Association awarded a Renovation Excellence award for the best overall performance in home renovation. The first award went to Paine Construction and Design, Kelowna, B.C.

Oakwood of Ottawa was a national runner up in the “Whole Home – Under $150,000” category.

Provincially, Amsted Design-Build won the Ensuite Extra award as well as the Ontario Home Builders’ Association Renovator of the Year.

In Ottawa, Gordon Weima Design Builder won custom builder of the year as well as designer of the year. Amsted Design-Build won both provincially and locally when the company was named Renovator of the Year in the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association awards. Amsted also won an award for a kitchen project with Deslaurier Custom Cabinets.

RND Construction, with Christopher Simmonds Architect, won the prize for green custom home of the year.

Winners of the kitchen awards were Deslaurier Custom Cabinets, Amsted Design-Build, Astro Design Centre and Hobin Architecture; and Art & Stone Group. Astro Design Centre also won the Laurysen Memorial Trophy.

Winners of the several awards in the bathroom renovation category were Astro Design Centre and Hobin Architecture as well as Hierarchy Development and Design.

Other Renovation winners in several categories were 25:8 Architecture+ Urban Design, OakWood, Amsted Design-Build and Ardington+Associates Design, Just Basements, and Deslaurier Custom Cabinets with West of Main.
